Caedmon College Whitby Uniform


As you may be aware, the College has a uniform for all KS3 and KS4 students. Our aim is to have a uniform which is affordable, practical and smart. Following approval by Executive Members of North Yorkshire County Council on 27 May for Caedmon School and Whitby Community College to amalgamate, we can now confirm that the following will be the Caedmon College Whitby uniform from the start of the new academic year in September.

Girls and Boys
Plain white shirt with collar
College tie
Black blazer with College badge
Plain black polishable footwear

Girls
Plain black skirt or plain black trousers
White or dark plain socks or black tight

Boys
Plain black trousers
White or dark plain socks

PE Kit
(Indoor)
Plain white polo shirt
Black shorts
White socks

(Outdoor)
Plain black fleece
Plain white polo shirt
Black shorts
Plain black or navy blue tracksuit bottoms/leggings
Black hockey socks

PE Kit

Plain white polo shirt
Black shorts

College rugby shirt

Black football socks

Trainers/Boots are needed in PE dependent on the activity.
Football boots must be worn for football and rugby.
We strongly advise that shin pads are worn for football and hockey
and a gum shield for hockey and rugby.

PLEASE NOTE:

Skirts: Must be knee to mid-calf length, plain black and not worn over leggings or trousers

Trousers: Must be plain black dress trousers – not ¾ length, culottes, shorts, footless tights or leggings. They must not be of cord, denim or pinstripe fabric. Jeans, combat-style, very flared or very tight trousers are not permitted

Footwear: Must be sensible for College wear, plain black and polishable. No coloured laces, flip flops or slipper-style mules

Jewellery: Must not be worn apart from a watch, one charity wrist band and a single, plain stud in each ear lobe

Other

  • FASHION ITEMS SUCH AS HATS AND SCARVES, LARGE BELTS OR BELTS WHICH ARE NOT PLAIN BLACK, MAY NOT BE WORN
  • MAKE-UP SHOULD NOT BE NOTICEABLE
  • HAIR COLOUR MUST BE NATURAL/NO EXTREME HAIR STYLES
  • FACIAL PIERCINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

In certain circumstances it may be possible to apply for a transition uniform grant. If you require more information on this and to check whether you may be eligible, please see North Yorkshire County Council’s website: www.northyorks.gov.uk/2946.  When purchasing uniform from the College shop you can redeem welfare vouchers by posting them to NextGen Clothing Ltd with a list of your uniform requirements or alternatively you can bring them in person to the NextGen Clothing Ltd showroom in Elvington, York.

To assist with student organisation, all students are expected to have a locker – please find attached further details about this.
