Full Time Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
37 hrs per week, Term Time only
Required from January
Fixed term until August 2016 in the first instance
Salary range: NYCC Band 4, (points 9-13) £7.11 to £8.09 per hour
The postholder will be a member of the office team, contributing to a range of office duties, including work on the busy reception desk at the Normanby Site, franking mail and undertaking some wordprocessing and clerical tasks. The successful postholder will have good organisational skills, be customer-focused and have a sensitive approach in dealing with parents, students, staff and external professionals. The role will involve dealing with students from the ages of 13 to 19 years in the main. Much of the work in the office will be highly confidential and tight deadlines have to be adhered to. The postholder must be able to work under pressure and to a high standard of accuracy, with good word-processing and computer skills; they also must have a personable telephone manner. The role is likely to be quite hectic rather than a ‘quiet office job’ and so the postholder will need to be resilient and calm, with excellent interpersonal skills that ensure that can deal effectively with a wide range of different people.
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to their work and will also be an efficient manager of time, capable of following College policies and procedures.
