Caedmon College Whitby has been recognised for its extensive work in linking the College to the world, and for our international partnerships. We have held many events in College over the past year to ensure that by bringing the world to Whitby we are developing cultural understanding and broadening our students’ horizons. We are therefore even further inspired to have been successful in becoming the Expert Centre for the Global Learning Programme, which is a government funded initiative to help educators prepare young people for life in a fast changing global world. As the designated Expert Centre for the North East network, Caedmon College Whitby will lead professional development sessions for colleagues in our cluster, and will act as a hub by working with our Partner Primary and Secondary schools to drive global learning across the curriculum, by sharing and developing best practice.
Tina Ollerenshaw, Leader for Modern Languages and Internationalism at Caedmon College, who will lead this new venture said: “We live in exciting times and this is yet another way Caedmon College Whitby is providing innovative and relevant learning for our students. This programme will enhance our already exceptional and creative curriculum. It will develop new ways to encourage critical thinking skills and will support our ongoing commitment to raising standards by strengthening further our college values and ethos, and by establishing cross curricular collaboration and powerful community links.”
