Wednesday 27 September, 5.30pm-7.30pm in Normanby site Learning Centre
Parents of Caedmon College students are always very keen to support their sons and daughters in their progression plans and with this in mind we have arranged a Parents Higher Education Event, which begins at 5.30pm in the Learning Centre, Normanby site. This will give parents and carers the opportunity to meet some of our local HE institutes and ask any questions. Coventry University (Scarborough Campus), York University, York St. John University, Leeds Beckett University, Teesside University, Hull University and Askham Bryan will all be available to chat to. Hopefully this will equip parents and carers with the relevant information so that they can fully support their son/daughter through the Higher Education application process and give you the opportunity to speak to local higher education providers to learn more about their undergraduate offer.
During the day students who are applying to University will also have the opportunity to work through their personal statement with Rob Rattray from Leeds Beckett University. He is an expert on Personal Statement writing. Students who wish to take advantage of this need to have handed a ‘draft’ of their Personal Statement into the Learning Centre on the Normanby site; with their name and choice of uni/course clearly visible. This must be handed in before 3.30pm on Monday 25 September. Students will then be assigned an appointment time to see Rob (this will be in small groups).
