It has been a particularly exciting and busy start to the new academic year with our Years 12 and 13 students moving, along with the Sixth Form team of staff, into our new Sixth Form Centre, which is based in the College Learning Centre. Now that the dust has settled and our new Year 12 students are getting used to life in the Sixth Form, I thought I would send you our introduction booklet, which students were given on their induction day. I hope this will answer any questions or queries you may have.
We really value communication with parents/carers and feel that strong links with home will benefit our students in their studies. If you would like to speak to a member of the Sixth Form team, please do not hesitate to contact the College, either to arrange an appointment to come in and talk to us, or to talk to us over the telephone.
Important dates for this term include:
Wednesday 11 October, when all Year 12 students will be attending a morning at the Spa run by the Alchemist Foundation; this provides a focus on leadership development. There is a covering letter enclosed, with a consent form, which needs to be returned as soon as possible.
Friday 20 October is the first monitoring point for all Year 12 students. Parents will be able to access student progress data on ePortal following this date.
On Thursday 14 December, all Year 12 students will be visiting Coventry University, Scarborough campus, to start looking into the opportunities that Higher Education has to offer.
