You should, by now, be aware of the various resources available to you and your son/daughter with regard to revision for their GCSE examinations.
In October we held a very successful parents’ revision night and introduced “GCSE Pod” (an online learning resource), this has now been rolled out to students across all year groups. It is an online revision tool to help with all learning activities in all subject areas. Just before half term students who missed the revision evening were given a revision booklet along with a calendar of events and exams. This can be found on our website; click on Real Smart then on the “self-learning and revision” tab, this will provide a range of study resources and guidance. It is available to all students and updated regularly, it will also map their revision and progress.
There will be an opportunity on Thursday 23 November at the Y11 Parents evening; which will be held in the Normanby Site main hall, for you to attend a “drop in” session for parents to discuss revision. Could I please make a plea to all parents to help with checking that their son/daughter are revising for the Y11 trial exams as they are starting the week beginning 4 December 2017. All students should have planned and started their revision programme by now. Time spent revising now will greatly impact on the outcomes of their GCSE’s next summer.
During the run up to these trial examinations teaching staff will have given students revision material and directed them to topic areas that will be covered in the exams. Their tutor/coach will have been working with students on how to get the most out of their revision.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
