As part of our enrichment day on Tuesday 20 March 2018, and our investigation into plastic and its effect on the environment, we would like to take our Year 7 and 8 students to Whitby beach for a beach clean.
Students will have an early lunch and the visit will take place during the students’ timetabled afternoon lessons. Students do not need to wear their College uniform on the day, but they will need an appropriate outdoor coat and footwear for the visit and thick gloves suitable for beach cleaning activities. Hats and sunscreen might also be a good idea. Can you please also ensure that your son/daughter brings water and any medication that they may need.
Students will return to the College by 3.30pm. They will be accompanied by College staff for the visit, however, there will be times during the trip when the students will be remotely supervised (ie, they may be out the direct sight of staff but will know how to find/contact them should they need to). A member of staff will always be available for students to contact either via meeting points or mobile phones.
If the weather is too poor, an assessment as to whether the trip should go ahead will be made and it may be cancelled on the day. We will be walking to and from Whitby beach.
Please can you complete the permission slip below and return it to the College reception.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me at the College.
