Radiographer Visit – 28 March 2018

Nicola Walker talking to students

On Wednesday 28 March, Nicola Walker, a local radiographer came to visit Year 10 Triple Science students at Caedmon College during their science lesson. Nicola discussed some of the parts of her job which are relevant to the science curriculum including use of radioactive tracers, nuclear imagery and cancer treatment. Nicola brought in some of the tools of her trade for the students to look at including the lead lined syringe, radioactive dose ring and badge all carried in a lead lined handbag!

The students were given the opportunity to ask questions and were really enthused, bringing the topic to life.
