S-Prize Competition

A STEM competition started seven weeks ago where students were asked to complete a project on their chosen STEM topic. There were five entries across the school, Joshua Harland and Conner Betts completed a report on ‘The Life Cycle of a Star’, Anna Wales, Amber Humble and Anna Derham completed a project on ‘Natural Disasters’. Rebecca Morgan completed a piece on ‘Dark Matter’. Emma Sharpe completed her project on ‘Effects of Pollution on the Ocean’ and Charlotte Wharrick completed her project on ‘How DNA leads to the synthesis of proteins, the impact of other factors on the mechanisms of gene expression and how they alter synthetic processes’. Joshua Harland and Conner Betts were our KS3 winners, Rebecca Morgan KS4 winner and Emma Sharpe was our KS5 winner. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support from Synthesys, so a big thank you to them.
