Health and Social Care

Is a popular subject from Year 9 to Year 13. We have seen excellent results and determination by all of our students resulting in them achieving their potential. Over the years students who have studied the subject have gone onto many and varied careers with health, social care and education both locally and nationally.

What have our students been doing this year?

Year 9 students have taken part in the Step into the NHS Competition which looks into the variety of careers and opportunities within the biggest employer in the UK, the NH For the second year running students from Caedmon College Whitby were commended nationally for the work they produced. Y10 students have just enjoyed a very successful, week long work experience placement within the local health, social care and education sector as part of the enrichment program within the course and will use this experience as part of their on-going qualification. Year 11 have completed two years of study that included two assignments and culminated in their final exam, for which they all worked incredibly hard and we wish them all the success in their future. Year 12 like Year 10 completed a weeks worth of work experience earlier on in the year and have worked hard on a new course completing assignment work and exams. All units have a vocational element and use skills that are transferable. Year 12 will continue with the course into Year 13 focusing on the units needed to follow a pathway into their future careers. Massive well done to Year 13 on completing you’re a-levels in Health and Social Care. We wish you all the best of luck in whatever you do in the future. #hocial rocks
