Caedmon College Whitby 4 – 2 Tadcaster Grammar
A superb game of football was played on Tuesday 5 February in the U-13 Girls County Cup quarter final. Caedmon College had already beaten three teams to get to this stage of the cup against Tadcaster Grammar school. Despite going 1-0 down after ten minutes, Caedmon regrouped and equalised just five minutes later when a powerful long range shot from Maya Gildroy was saved into the path of Emee Reed who had a tap in at the back post.
It was a perfect start to the second half with Maya scoring within ten seconds of the restart. The College girls were full of confidence which meant they dominated the game from this point. The Tadcaster keeper was fantastic and made many great saves to keep them in with a chance but Caedmon’s pressure was relentless. Alannah Inglis scored twice in five minutes to put the hosts 4-1 up. Tadcaster scored again with two minutes to go but by this point Caedmon were comfortable winners.
A tremendous performance by all the girls involved who look forward to the semi-final.
