BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Law

What will you be learning?
The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Law is a 360-guided-learning-hour (GLH) qualification that consists of four units, three of which are mandatory and two of the four having an external assessment.

Mandatory Units 

  • Dispute Solving in Civil Law – externally assessed
  • Applying the law – externally assessed
  • Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law and the Legal System – internally assessed

An Optional Unit

  • Contract Law – internally assessed

What other learning could you do:
You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses, which could lead onto higher education in areas of Law, Business Studies, Politics or more general higher education courses.
With further training, you could go into a job related to law such as a Legal Executive, Solicitor or Barrister.
You could also go straight into a job as the BTEC is a recognised qualification, which will help you develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many other employers across lots of industries are looking for.

What career options do you have?
With a qualification in Law, you will be well equipped to go on to higher education to study a wide range of subjects including law or business studies, or you can enter the legal profession, management, or local government.
