Support for Parents

If you have concerns the first step would be to contact the Pastoral Leader for that year group:

  • Year 7, 8 & 9 – Mrs D Wood
  • Year 10 & 11 – Mr D Taylor
  • Year 12 & 13 – Mr J Daley

If you continue to have concerns then contact the SEN Team:

  • Mrs H Kirk – SENCo
  • Mrs M Plant - SEN Administrator

The SENCo manages the needs of students in the College. The members of staff are as follows:

  • Learning Support Assistants

All SEN staff are highly qualified in SEN.

Learning Support Assistants have weekly in service training to develop their skills and knowledge. This training is provided not only from in house personnel but also from other agencies such as the SSA team, Hearing Impairment service etc…

Learning Support assistants also have the opportunity to apply for further qualifications as part of their performance managements system.

All teaching staff have regular training on key SEN issues. There are also training materials provided for all teaching staff focusing on dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorder, speech, language and communication difficulties.
